Switch Runner :: prototype

Overview

Switch Runner is a basic runner game, focused on fast-paced platforming and smashing enemies. The track is not endless, so try to last till the end. Only one level. Only one hit.

Background

Created in late 2016, this was my first game made in Java. I did the art, level, BGM, and coding. Made it within two weeks as a final project for an introductory programming course.

The idea originated from just a game I played in my head while riding in the car as a child. Bouncing from left to right on the street, trying to avoid cars and pitfalls. It entertained my as a kid, so I figured it might entertain others as well.

At one point I had thoughts of continuing this project, but decide against it. I may reuse mechanical ideas in future projects however.

Running the Game

1. Requires Java Runtime Environment 1.7.0_40 or later
2. Download .ZIP package
3. Unzip the folder within Windows' file explorer
